Out of all of the mediums I have talked about on this website, shellac 78 rpm records are by far the easiest to start collecting. Compared to cylinders, and diamond discs, there is a much greater of music, from folk, to classical, and even early jazz! They were also produced for a much longer period of time, and they were much more popular. I would recommend this as a good starting point for gramophone record collecting.
